2025 New Colombo Plan (NCP) scholars gathered in Canberra for their Pre-Departure Training (PDT), an intensive program designed to prepare them for their upcoming study and work placements across the Indo-Pacific. The training covered key topics including cultural competency, safety and security, and professional development, equipping scholars with the knowledge and skills to make the most of their time overseas.
With their training complete, the 2025 scholars are now set to embark on their placements, where they will contribute to Australia’s regional engagement through study, internships, and language training. Their experiences will shape their careers, deepen cross-cultural connections, and strengthen Australia’s partnerships in the Indo-Pacific.
The New Colombo Plan Alumni Program supports alumni to maintain a connection to each other, the New Colombo Plan and the Indo-Pacific region as they progress in their lives and careers.
